About the Author

Ken Foster was born under the sign of Pisces very early in the morning on a Monday during a waning moon, to loving parents and three older sisters.  He lived in the suburbs of Harris County, Texas, until moving to the North Texas area in second grade.  At the age of ten his family had a merry surprise when a younger brother arrived.

He spent a great deal of time with his grandparents at their homes in the big thicket area of southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas.  When school started he would spend the summer months with them running around the swamps and heavily wooded thickets.  These times left a lasting impression on him.

He was brought up hunting, fishing and taught how to respect our vast and vital resources from the land, air, and water to the wildlife.  Many times during hunting trips someone would make a shot and find a blood trail then give up looking when it got dark.  When they came into camp and reported the loss Ken and his father would go back out with the hunter and continue the search, rarely did they come back failing to find the wounded or dead animal.  Although the high cost of hunting has impacted his current enjoyment of the sport, given a chance he would be more than happy to start it back up.

Throughout his school years Ken was active in sports playing football, boxing and in high school was also on the track team (throwing both the shot put and discus).  It wasn’t until after graduating high school that academics became important and he received a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

Ken worked as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in product and process development earning his way up the corporate ladder achieving the title of Vice President of Engineering before starting his own business.  A horrible automobile accident put a stop to that career.

While still in college Ken began racing cars in the Sports Car Club of America and successfully did so with his wife and daughter until the automobile accident kept him from continuing.  He had achieved Southwest Division Champion for several years and served two full terms on the Board of Directors.

In addition to his literary accomplishments in this website Ken also has written freelance and holds four U.S. Patents, two International patents, three copyrights.  Worked closely with the FAA and was awarded a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for a unique heating system for general aviation aircraft.

His hobbies both past and present are but not limited to:  Grandfather, Camping, Hunting, Fishing, General Outdoor Enthusiast, Race Car designer / builder / driver, Classic Vehicle Enthusiast, Off Road Enthusiast, Motorcyclist (biker), General Aviation Pilot.

Ken is proud to offer his adventure novels on Amazon where they are always available in paperback and Kindle.
